The German Association for Water, Wastewater and Waste (DWA) is entered in the City of Bonn associations register. The DWA fulfils solely and directly non-profit making purposes. The Organs of the Association are Member's Meeting, Presiding Committee, Management Board and Advisory Committee.The advisory committee of the DWA accompanies the work of the Presiding Committee and the Management Board in an advisory capacity.
Regional Groups
In order to implement the tasks of the DWA at federal and regional levels, the DWA operates from its national headquarters and seven separate regional groups.
Main Committees
The solution of technical issues is carried out by the main committees which are formed by the managing board. The main committees may, with the consent of the presiding committee, form sub-committees in order to perform their duties. These sub-committees themselves may implement working groups for the treatment of technical issues.
All participants in the main- and sub-committees are working on a voluntary basis.
In addition the managing board may form research associations as needed. Those are responsible for the execution and consolidation of work on the individual subject fields of the association.
